Permits are often on high demand especially during the peak season with the limited number of permits issued per day, it is advisable for one to book their gorilla trekking permit at least 3 months in advance

How long does it take to track the mountain gorillas in Uganda ?

Gorilla trekking takes between 1 to 5 hours depending on the last known location of the gorillas (where they slept the night), the terrain where the gorillas are located(tough or simple) and the movements of the allocated gorilla family.

Gorillas have been habituated to bee in the presence of human beings, this is a long and careful process and can take several years with special trained rangers who are allowed to approach them carefully and spend increasing periods of time with them.
