This Gorilla trekking tour, is a special opportunity to track the mountain gorillas twice visiting 2 different families/groups in Bwindi National park where over half of the world’s remaining population of mountain gorillas call home.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Entebbe

You will receive a warm welcome from our company representative at the airport after going through the covid-19 protocols. You will be transferred to your overnight hotel in Entebbe town to rest early to ably embark on the long days’ journey by road the next day or sleep in a little more if your taking a domestic flight.

Dinner and overnight at 2Friends Hotel Deluxe rooms – (high end hotel) or 2Friends Hotel standard rooms – (moderate facilities) or Airport Guest House ( Budget facilities)

Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Wake up for a relaxed breakfast and  get bags ready to transfer to Entebbe airport for a local flight (at 12:45am) to Bwindi for our gorilla trekking safari. In Bwindi you will be met by a company representative at the airstrip for transfer to your overnight accommodation.

Or by road

Start off the journey at 6:45 am heading to Bwindi via Mbarara and make a first stop over at the Equator crossing for photography and continue for another stop at the famous cultural center at Igongo village to share and learn about the Ankole culture & museum.

Have lunch at Igongo restaurant and thereafter head to Bwindi, National Park an impenetrable forest filled with primates and many exotic birds.

Dinner and overnight stay at Mahogany Springs (High end lodge) or Silverback Lodge (Moderate facility) or Buhoma Community Bandas (Budget facility)

Day 3: First Gorilla trekking Adventure Experience

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for briefing about the mountain gorillas and the park before entering the jungle to search for the gorillas led by a ranger.

When we eventually find the mountain gorillas we will watch them for the allowed 1 hour and see them play,groom each other and feed. Be sure to lookout for great chances to take memorable photographs of these gentle giants as they go about their day. For an enhanced gorilla trekking experience carry with you, rain gear, wear comfortable walking shoes/hiking boots, a hat, insect repellent, sun screen, packed lunch, bottled mineral water, a well charged camera and wear trousers for the activity. This activity usually lasts between 2 to 8 hours depending on how far the gorillas have walked off into the forest in search for food.

Depending on how strong you are after the tracking, spend the evening visiting the local communities around the park-like the Bakiga homesteads, the Batwa for a cultural performance, local schools, and art and craft shops or just relax at the lodge.

Day 4: Second gorilla trekking tour adventure

After your breakfast, follow the same program for a second day’s experience of gorilla trekking visiting another family.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 5: Bwindi – Entebbe

After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe with great memories of our gorilla tracking tour. Have lunch en-route and a stop at the equator to have a look at the curios to take home as souvenirs from the pearl of Africa. Today spend the night in Entebbe to take a morning flight home the next day. Dinner and overnight at 2 Friends Beach Hotel Entebbe (high end Hotel) or  Airport Guest House (budget facility)

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch.

Day 6: Entebbe – flight home

Transfer to Entebbe International airport in the morning to go through the covid-19 protocols early enough to be ready for your flight out in time.
